What foods could i eat to improve my fitness levels?

Hey , rugby and football season is over and my fitness levels have gone way down ,besides running i was wondering what foods could help me improve my fitness. thanksWhat foods could i eat to improve my fitness levels?Lots and lots and lots of waterWhat foods could i eat to improve my fitness levels?No certain foods will do that- just plenty of protein and veggies to keep up muscle mass.

whole wheat bread or whole wheat pasta instead of original white bread or pasta

no junk food
