Is it harder to reach your fitness goal or to maintain it?

It might seem like a silly question but I've been searching online for this and hardly found a decent answer. So I'd like to get some feedback from people who have reached their fitness goals. Is it harder to reach your fitness goal or to maintain it?I think it much more difficult to reach a goal. Once you've been exercising, eating well, and sleeping better/feeling better, you start to build a consistent program and a routine.

Making lifestyle changes is difficult, but when you get used to them, you integrate them into your life. Suddenly, exercise is routine and you feel strange if you DON'T go out and run 3 miles or lift weights. Is it harder to reach your fitness goal or to maintain it?maintaining for sure. I was working out 4-5 times a week when i was getting in shape, now im in decent shape and its like 3-4 lol. And im always coming up with excuses. But you gotta keep it up! or so i try to tell myself
