Most people in this country couldn't even find Idaho on a map, yet we have to hear all of these "fans" hype up victories over Idaho University and Fresno State.
This whole BCS system has become even more ridiculous than it ever has before. People act like non-BCS schools get shafted but really it is the BCS schools that get screwed. It is not an even playing field. Major universities play top tier talent week after week and are bound to slip up from time to time, when they do, they are penalized and dropped way down in the polls. Behind teams that don't have to play anybody. At some point, level of competition has to come into play.
If somebody tells me that Boise could run the SEC, Pac-10, Big Ten or Big 12, I would tell them that they are absolutely delusional. How can a little university in freaking Idaho all of the sudden have so many "fans"?
everybody loves a good underdog story, or just a good story period, and while i do hate the bcs i definitely don't think boise should be in championship consideration because of their conference and schedule. but you gotta admit watching that hook and ladder to beat oklahoma in the bowl game a few years ago was entertaning tv.
As the number of wins increase, the size of the band-wagon increases exponentially, allowing more and more people to jump on-board.How can a little university in freaking Idaho all of the sudden have so many "fans"?
How could you say that, you don't now that for sure.
And the only way to find out would be let play those big schools maybe like a playoff
all boise state does is win. they have done as much as they possibly could do to get better ranked opponents but your bcs teams refuse. so either you admit that there is collusion in the system by allowing only a percentage of teams a shot at the title, or you let the best team in the country have a shot at proving themselves to idiots like you.
and yes, bsu could run the pac-10, big 10, and big 12. the sec would be a stretch, but the only team who has run the table this year in the sec is auburn, and they're getting ready to lose against alabama next week. so a one loss boise would likely be in the sec title game, and therefore, thanks to the bcs, would be going to the nc game if they won that. How can a little university in freaking Idaho all of the sudden have so many "fans"?
I don't know if Boise could run the SEC, but they would kill the ACC or the Big East, two conferences who automatically put a team in a BCS game every year. The Big East is going to send a team with at least three losses to a BCS bowl game. I doubt they're feeling screwed by the system, although they ought to feel ashamed. The reason why Boise has so many brand new fans is because every time a Boise or a TCU or a Utah shows up, it represents one more kick in the teeth to the god-awful BCS and hopefully marches us one more step towards a playoff.
