Well the story in the bhagavad gita is that a battle is about to take place between two armies which are lead by relatives of the same family. Prince Arjuna tells his chariot driver that he doesn't want to fight because a lot of his friends and family are on the other side and he'd rather die than kill them. His driver, who is really the god Krishna, explains that he must do his duty and fight. During the explanation Krishna gives him a lot of wisdom. So I'd look for a movie where you have an impending battle and someone talking to his friend or servant about the best way to live life. Nothing rings a bell for me. but I"m not into hollywood blockbusters. Good luck! What Hollywood blockbuster was based off the BHAGAVAD GITA?It's not widely known, but Francis Ford Coppola's "The Godfather" was actually based largely on the Bhagavad Gita. Both, first of all, feature a long-running war between two clans of extended family members, in a seemingly endless struggle for dominance under the eyes of certain greater powers that periodically intervene (e.g. the police, FBI, etc.) but never conclusively end the conflict.
Al Pacino's character stands in for Arjuna, and just as in the story, the movie leaves the scene of battle partway through for an idyllic, philosophical interlude as Arjuna/Pacino seeks guidance. In the movie, the island of Sicily actually stands in for Krishna. Krishna is sometimes known as the "source of all incarnations", which is appropriate for the land from which all the Italian gangster families in the film originate. The ways of the land also teach Pacino to finally surrender his own will to the traditions and culture of an ancient heritage - only when he gives up his delusions about what will make him happy can he lead a truly fulfilled life.
I think the horse's head represents karma, but I'm not sure...What Hollywood blockbuster was based off the BHAGAVAD GITA?
