How did Citizen Kane deviate from classical Hollywood conventions ?

the essay question is how does it conform to and deviate from classical hollywood conventions and codes of narrative form and style, i have good bit of info and ideas about how it deviates but i cant really figure out how it conformed to the mainstream hollywood style of the time (1941).How did Citizen Kane deviate from classical Hollywood conventions ?Some examples of how it is similar to films made in the previous decade.

The cinematography was often similar to James Whales horror films of the 1930's: Frankenstein, Bride of Frankenstein, The Invisible Man and The Old Dark House. For example overtly expressionist lighting and framing, ceilings and elaborate sets were all hallmarks of James Whale, but for some reason he's largely forgotten while Welles is apparently a genius for doing the same thing ten years later.

The acting style was also similar to Frank Capra pictures of the 1930's, although that's down to personal opinion but I definitely see similarities.

The main difference in Citizen Kane is that the story is a false biopic told in an unusual way for a film with different characters telling scenes from his life rather than a pure entertainment film like Whale or Capra. How did Citizen Kane deviate from classical Hollywood conventions ?Every single Hollywood movie had a specific beginning, middle, and end. It was the first movie to ever tell what happens at the end in the beginning. The lighting at the time had many shadows and basic cinematography. Citizen Kane had interesting lighting and moving cameras all over the place.
